On December 17, 2024, federal agents and deputies with the Martin County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at an apartment in Jensen Beach, Florida, as part of an investigation into an organized gift card fraud scheme. The investigation began after a grocery store employee reported two individuals tampering with gift cards inside a South Florida store. Surveillance footage later captured the suspects leaving in a black Bentley SUV with New York license plates, leading investigators to identify the vehicle and the suspects. During the search, investigators recovered hundreds of altered gift cards, glue, cutting tools, electronic devices containing stolen payment card data, and additional evidence believed to be connected to the fraud operation. A subsequent search of the Bentley SUV uncovered more compromised gift cards.
