#news #police #arrest #cops Report: On 04/10/2022, Officers were advised of a hit and run that just occurred. Central advised that the suspect's vehicle was a Gold Honda with a black female driver with dreads. Officer observed a Gold Honda with significant front-end damage drive past me toward First St. Officer quickly got behind the vehicle and advised Central that I had eyes on the suspect vehicle and gave the vehicle tag. Officer activated my blue lights and siren in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. The suspect did not yield and continued driving downtown. The suspect was attempting to flee and elude the police. The suspect did run through a red light trying to flee from police. Due to her evasive maneuvers to get away from the police officers were advised to break it off. Officer turned off my lights and siren and continued to follow the suspect's vehicle. The suspect turned off the headlights and was still trying to elude the police. The suspect started to drive-thru stop signs without stopping and officers lost visual of the suspect. Officers located the vehicle unoccupied. Officers were informed that the vehicle had history of being at apartments. Officers quickly made contact with the residence at the apartment. The resident was very cooperative with our investigation and was not a suspect of any crime. The resident commented that she couldn't be a part of this (resident was not identified) and that the other female needed to go. The other female in the residence matched the suspect's description. At that time the female was placed under arrest and was the registered owner of the vehicle. The suspect was then transported to the local hospital and medically cleared for the jail.
