Rimes scammed a Daytona Beach resident out of $17,000 through a Bitcoin scheme. The victim was deceived into believing he had a federal warrant for his arrest issued by a North Carolina sheriff’s office. Investigators with the Volusia Sheriff’s Office tracked the stolen funds and identified Rimes through bank records. According to authorities, this case is connected to a larger operation involving inmates at Georgia State Prison, who collaborate with individuals outside the facility to carry out fraud and transfer money into prison commissary accounts. Rimes also has a tattoo on her chest of a man currently incarcerated in Georgia State Prison.
