#news #police #arrest #cops #walmart #shoplifting Report: On 10/20/2022, At approximately 4:10 pm, Officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference the report of a male attempting to take items from the store. The caller with Walmart Loss Prevention, advised that a white male wearing a black sweatshirt and blue pants was being escorted to the front office to meet with officers. While en route, the employee advised that the suspect had left the building and was now walking towards the tire shop. Officer arrived on scene and observed a male wearing a black sweatshirt and blue pants walking next to the tire shop in front of the Walmart store. As the officer pulled up to the tire shop, the male entered the shop. Employees at the tire shop advised that the male had entered into the bathroom at the front of the store. The officer knocked on the door, announced herself, and ordered the male to come out of the bathroom. The suspect did not respond. Another officer who responded to the scene knocked as well and announced himself. The suspect still did not respond. The other responding officer then took a credit card and was able to maneuver the lock on the door so that it became unlatched. The suspect then exited the bathroom. He stated that he was using the bathroom and that is why he did not respond. The suspect was placed in double locked handcuffs behind his back and was escorted to my patrol vehicle where he was searched. At this time, it was found that the suspect we had lied about his identity and was then seated in the backseat of my patrol vehicle. Loss prevention advised that the suspect had left personal belongings at Walmart and would like him barred from the property. The officer drove the suspect back to the front of Walmart to gather his belongings and loss prevention advised that the suspect was barred from the property for a period of two years (10/20/2022-10/20/2024). He acknowledged the barring. In the suspects property, three cellphones were found. The cellphones were placed into Evidence. Loss prevention also provided a list of all items that the suspect attempted to remove from the store. These items are as follows: a utility cart, three propane cylinders, two lanterns, two tents, two heaters, a sleeping bag, two air mattresses, and a power bank. The items were valued at $831.59.
