On 04-18-2021, I overheard a Coweta County deputy attempt to conduct a traffic stop with a motorcycle on 1-85 South. The deputy advised the motorcycle was not stopping. The deputy engaged in a pursuit. The pursuit exited I-85 at Exit 47 and traveled west on GA 34. The pursuit turned north on Newnan Crossing Bypass. At this time, the deputy was ordered to terminate the pursuit. I advised the deputy that I was in the area. The deputy was able to maintain visual and followed the motorcycle back to GA 34. The motorcycle began traveling west on GA 34 towards my location. The deputy advised] me that the motorcycle ran the red light at GA 34 / Greison Trail. I observed the motorcycle traveling west on GA 34 in the left lane. I checked its speed at 72 MPH in a posted 45 MPH zone. As I traveled through the median, the motorcycle accelerated. The motorcycle ran the red light at GA 14 / GA 16. I attempted to stop the motorcycle. The motorcycle failed to stop and initiated a pursuit. I immediately notified Troop D Communications of the situation. The motorcycle recklessly traveled west on GA 16 at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle changed lanes without a signal and recklessly passed other motorists. While on GA 16 east of Hospital Road, the motorcycle was traveling in excess of 70 MPH in a posted 35 MPH zone. The vehicle slowed and appeared to be attempting to turn left onto GA 34 but remained straight on GA 16. On GA 16 west of Hospital Road, the motorcycle was traveling in excess of 90 MPH in a posted 45 MPH zone. Due to the upcoming intersection of GA 16 / GA 34 Bypass, I passed the motorcycle and slowed my patrol car. After the speed of the pursuit was lowered, I attempted to channel the motorcycle to the side of the roadway in an attempt to terminate the pursuit. The attempt was unsuccessful. The motorcycle maneuvered around the left side of my patrol car and drove through the marked gore into the eastbound lanes. The motorcycle passed me in the intersection of GA 16 / GA 34 Bypass and continued west. T h e motorcycle traveled through a n o t h e r marked gore and turned right onto Lunsforc Road. The motorcycle made a wide turn and began traveling on the wrong side of the road. The motorcycle neared a sharp right curve and nearly crashed. The motorcycle began traveling down a dirt access road. At the end of the access road, the motorcycle was forced to stop due to the terrain and the embankment. The driver, later identified as Marcus Wilson-Boyd, got off of the motorcycle. I displayed my issued Glock 45 and placed Mr. Wilson-Boyd at gun point. I ordered Mr. Wilson-Boyd to get on the ground. Mr. Wilson-Boyd appeared to hesitate and move slowly. Due to me holding my weapon, I pushed Mr. Wilson-Boyd to the ground with my foot. At this time, Mr. Wilson-Boyd complied. I holstered my weapon and placed Mr. Wilson-Boyd under arrest. Mr. Wilson-Boyd was escorted to the front of my patrol car, and he was searched. No illegal contraband was discovered. Mr. Wilson-Boyd was legally in possession of a Taurus handgun. Mr. Wilson-Boyd was placed into my patrol car. Mr. Wilson-Boyd's personal belongings were secured into his backpack. The motorcycle and Mr. Wilson-Boyd's belongings were released to Parker's Wrecker Service. I transported Mr. Wilson-Boyd to the jail and turned him over to the jail staff without incident.
