On February 20, 2025 at approximately 4:39 PM, officers with the St. Charles Police Department were dispatched to Meijer at 855 S Randall Road on a report of a retail theft. Officer Joseph Gaske went over to Meijer and reviewed the videos while Sergeant Bradley Schumacher located a male matching their description walking with another male on W State Street near Bradbury Lane in the neighboring town of Geneva. He made contact with the male, and asked him if he had been at Meijer earlier. The man initially provided an alias and stated that his name was John. After continuing to offer contradictory account of where he was, he eventually admitted that he had been at Meijer and that he had stolen a beer from them. The man was identified as Licurgo Roman Diazsandi. Based on prior interactions they had with him, it was revealed that he had already been trespassed form Meijer and that he was not allowed to be inside the store. Officer Gaske arrived on scene and made contact with both Sergeant Schumacher and Licurgo. Licurgo told the officers that he had just been released from jail an hour earlier that day. Officer Gasked asked the loss prevention staff in Meijer what they wanted to do, and they stated that they wished to press charges. Shortly afterwards, Licurgo was informed that he was under arrest. Officer Gaske placed Licurgo in handcuffs and searched him before placing him inside the patrol car. Licurgo was transported to the St. Charles Police Department for further processing. After the officers processed him at the station, he was transported to Delnor Hospital for further evaluation. Licurgo was charged with the following: -Retail theft (720 ILCS 5/16-25-A-1) -Criminal Trespass (720 ILCS 5/21-3-A-2) ------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information).
