Bodycam footage from the Palm Bay Police Department in Florida shows the bizarre arrest of a woman who refused to leave a home where she was an unwanted guest, claiming she couldn't be removed because the homeowner had a lizard. On September 29th, 2024, officers were called to a residence to remove a woman who had only been staying there for 24 hours but was now refusing to leave. The woman, who appeared to be in mental distress, engaged in a long, circular argument with officers, insisting she had residency and couldn't be forced out. Her primary complaint was a bizarre and unfounded fear that the homeowner was going to throw a lizard at her. After being given numerous opportunities to collect her belongings and leave peacefully, the woman dared officers to arrest her. When they moved in to take her into custody, she immediately resisted and had to be physically escorted to a patrol car, pleading for someone to "escort her off the property" just moments after refusing to leave.
