#news #police #arrest #cops Report: On 02/24/2022, Officers were flagged down by an anonymous person in reference to the suspect having an active warrant for violation of a court order out. The person wanted to remain anonymous but wanted to tell the officers where the suspect was currently at. The person wanted the suspect to be taken into custody due to his routine illegal substance use. An officer was out with the suspect earlier in the day but had no knowledge of his active arrest warrant. Central Communications confirmed that the Arrest warrants were valid. Officers made contact with the suspect in the side driveway. The suspect was informed that he had an active arrest warrant. The suspect stated that he did not have a warrant and refused to put his hands behind his back. He continually pulled away from me in order to resist arrest. The suspect was advised that if he did not comply that he would be charged with obstruction of Law enforcement. He continued to pull away and slowly walk away from me, the suspect was warned several times that if he did not comply that he would be tased in order for us to take him into custody. The officer was unable to maintain control of the suspect due to his physical stature and he continued to walk away from me. The suspect was about to walk into a roadway that had higher traffic volume at the corner. After several attempts to get the suspect into the grass for a safer Taser deployment, he was tased by SGT Butt and another officer guided the suspect to the ground to avoid him landing on the asphalt road. The suspect had full Neuromuscular incapacitation from the Taser deployment but once the 5 second cycle stopped him continued to resist officers on the ground by refusing to allow officers to remove his hands from his stomach area to behind his back. The suspect was eventually taken into custody (DBL/BB) but refused to walk to the patrol car so the downtown van was utilized, officers carried him to the van. The suspect was transported to jail without incident.
