On February 3, 2025, Arkansas State Police Trooper Dylan Evans conducted a traffic stop on a black and orange 2017 Dodge Charger along I-40 East near West Memphis, Arkansas, for speeding in a 65 MPH zone. As Trooper Evans approached the car, he noticed the strong smell of marijuana coming from inside. When asked to step out, the driver, Brandon Williams, initially cooperated but then sped off, triggering a high-speed pursuit. Trooper C. Wright took over the chase, with the Charger pushing speeds beyond 140 MPH, weaving through traffic. Trooper Wright executed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) near mile marker 284, bringing the pursuit to an end. Williams made a final attempt to escape by ramming trooper vehicles, but officers boxed him in. During the arrest, Williams discarded a bag containing 90 grams of marijuana, and officers later found more drugs and a digital scale inside the car.
