On May 17, 2024, at approximately 2:55 a.m., Police Officers Aaron Font and Shawn Sodora responded to CVS, 59 Washington St., on reports of a woman punching herself in the face and acting erratic outside the store. Officers recognized her as 47-year old Stacy Butler of Hoboken. Butler was on the ground rolling around and occasionally striking her hands and feet on the pavement. She had a cut on her forehead. The Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps was called. Sgt. James Barbaro arrived to assist. Butler was found to have an open warrant for failure to pay rail service fare and shoplifting. She was arrested. Police Officer Bianca Arroya conducted a search incident to arrest which located a glass cylindrical tube with a burnt end, a broken glass cylindrical tube, and three pieces of steel wool, all commonly used to smoke CDS. Butler was ultimately released with a new court date. #hoboken #bodycam #mentalhealth
