On November 17, 2024, police responded to a disturbance outside an apartment complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Witnesses reported a 55-year-old woman shouting at bystanders, making racially charged remarks, and refusing to leave the area. When officers arrived, what could have been a brief conversation quickly escalated. The woman refused to provide identification, repeatedly demanded a lawyer during a street-level investigation, and continued arguing with both officers and the reporting party. Multiple witnesses described her behavior as aggressive and disorderly, and video evidence captured the exchange. As the encounter unfolded, officers attempted to de-escalate and explain the situation, but the woman’s continued refusal to cooperate — combined with her verbal outbursts — ultimately led to her arrest for disorderly conduct and obstruction.
