On February 3, 2023, Eau Claire Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident where a vehicle crashed into a building. When the first officer arrived, he made contact with the 21 year-old female driver. She explained that she was driving her dad's car home for the night because he was trying to repair her vehicle. She admitted to drinking several beers and a shot of tequila, so the officer asked her to perform standardized field sobriety exercises, which included a preliminary breath test (PBT). The result of the PBT was 0.145%. She was arrested and consented to a blood draw at the hospital. At some point, while the woman is inside the hospital, the officer makes contact with the father over the phone and explains what has occurred to his daughter. Her charges and the outcome of the case are explained at the end of the video.
