On July 3, 2025, Las Cruces Police Officers were called to the Walgreens on a report of a shoplifter who had assaulted a store employee. Officer Cortez arrived and got a description of the female shoplifter. Officer Aguilera located the 21-year-old woman down the street and detained her. She then started a vulgar and obnoxious rampage of disrespect towards the officers. She refused to get in the police car and dictated while officer could touch her and transport her to jail. Walgreens surveillance footage was reviewed and it was determined that she stole $102 worth of merchandise. She was booked into the Dona Ana County Jail on charges of shoplifting, battery, and resisting arrest. In a final minute of justice (29:34), the Detention Officers refused to play her games. The current status of her case is unknown as it does not appear in the New Mexico Courts website.
