On June 28th, 2018, a 24-year-old woman’s friends and family finally accepted that something was very, very wrong. For four days, they hadn’t heard a word from her. Not a text, not a call, not a social media post—which was completely unlike her, as she was known for being highly social and regularly keeping in touch with those around her. After days of reaching out to every friend or acquaintance they could think of, they knew it was time to contact the authorities. One of her close friends requested a welfare check, which led officers to her apartment complex.
