On June 9, 2025, Howard County Police responded to a 911 call regarding a stabbing in the 9200 block of Wilber Court in Columbia, MD. A second caller—later identified as the suspect—reported he had stabbed a family member and was located near a bus stop at Oakland Mills Road and Carters Lane, armed with multiple weapons. When officers arrived, they found the man holding a spear. Despite repeated verbal commands, the man advanced toward officers. One officer fired his service weapon, striking the suspect. Emergency medical services were already on scene and rendered immediate aid, but the man was pronounced dead. A spear was recovered near his body. No officers were injured.
