Prior DWI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0zAayzDar4 Prank 911 Call: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0onu_xH0nc Around 8:34 PM on April 20, 2026, Trooper Daniel Wojdyla with the New Jersey State Police was dispatched to a hit-and-run motor crash on Interstate 287 Northbound near milepost 37.3. He arrived and noticed that a black 2015 Kia Sportage driven by Daniela Torres Duran had sustained become disabled as a result of the crash. A witness had followed the driver of a blue 2016 Dodge Challenger all the way to the QuickChek at 2 South Jefferson Road in Hanover Township. Officer Timothy Dalgauer with the Hanover Township Police Department arrived on at the QuickChek around 8:38 PM, located the suspect vehicle, and made contact with the caller. The caller told him that a female had parked her vehicle and walked inside the store. Shortly afterwards, she exited the store and Officer Dalgauer made contact with her. She was eventually identified as 24-year-old Gabriella Colon, and she admitted to driving the Dodge Challenger on the highway. She had driven the vehicle all the way to the QuickChek without a passenger side front tire. The officers with Hanover Township detained Gabriella while the State Police investigated the crash. She told the officers that she had left work at Birdie’s Cafe in Vernon Township, NJ and gone for a drive afterwards. Troopers arrived on scene about a half hour later and took over the investigation. Gabriella denied consuming any alcohol, but the officers suspected that she may be impaired. Trooper Wojdyla administered field sobriety exercises and placed her under arrest for DWI after determining that Gabriella was under the influence. A search of the vehicle incident to arrest yielded the presence of 3 unopened 12 OZ cans of Michelob Ultra. The cans were part of a six-pack, but the other 3 cans were missing. Gabriella was then transported to the Netcong Station for further processing. At the station, the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators was read to her and she agreed to submit breath samples. Gabriella’s Alcotest results indicated a BAC level of 0.148%, which was above the legal limit of 0.08%. She was eventually released to Sophia Marie Davenport after she signed signed the Potential Liability Warning form on her behalf. (P.L. 2001, c. 404). Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. The New Jersey Supreme Court has previously affirmed in Salzano v. North Jersey Media Group, 993 A.2d 778 (2010) that “The fair-report privilege reflects the judgment that the need, in a self-governing society, for free-flowing information about matters of public interest outweighs concerns over the uncompensated injury to a person's reputation.” This video advances a compelling public interest. The summary of events was based on records that are “open to public view through open access to public records” as defined in the Salzano case. In Ramos v. Flowers, 429 N.J. Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.
