Officer Huggins noticed that the driver of the at-fault vehicle exhibited signs of intoxication, so a DUI certified officer was called. While waiting for the second officer, the 57-year-old woman started experiencing medical issues. As a result, EMS was called. However, the woman refused any medical treatment. She was then asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which she refused. She was arrested for DUI and was transported to Hoboken police headquarters, where she refused to submit to an evidential breath test. She was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and refusing to submit to chemical testing. On July 25, 2024, she pled guilty to the refusal charge. The operating a vehicle under the influence charge was dismissed. She was fined $1,140 and order to spend 12 hours at an Intoxicated Driver's Resource Center. In addition, her license was revoked for 8 years and she was ordered to install an ignition interlock device on her vehicle for 10 years.
