#news #police #arrest #cops #shoplifting Report: On 04/21/2022, Officers responded to Dollar General Market in reference to a shoplifting. The caller was an employee who stated that a black male wearing a green shirt and black pants left the store with a basket full of items he did not pay for. The caller stated that employees confronted the male and he handed them over and admitted that he stole them from the store. According to the caller he then proceeded to leave the store with his pockets full of items that he had not purchased. Upon arrival, officers met with the manager at the Dollar General Market. Officers on the scene observed the suspect change clothes behind an adjacent residential area. Officers placed the suspect in handcuffs (BB/DL) and conducted a search of his person before transporting. The Manager confirmed that this was the individual who shoplifted from the store. The suspect was placed in the back of my patrol vehicle. While being interviewed by officers the suspect stated that he had shoplifted the other items from Belle and Walmart. The officer met with the manager of Dollar General. She stated that employees were able to retrieve the basket full of items the suspect initially left with. The manager totaled the total amount of merchandise to $96.55 USD in assorted shirts, pants, and hats sold at the Dollar General. A criminal history was run on the suspect which informed the officers that he had several prior shoplifting convictions. The suspect had in his possession two other bags containing other items, including merchandise from Walmart and Belles. The items from Belles were returned to the store. The items will be turned in to evidence at West Precinct for safekeeping. Officers transported the suspect to Jail without incident.
