A Houston police officer was removed from the department after publicly suggesting that the next Black person she encountered on a 911 call was going to jail. That statement raised serious questions about every arrest, report, search, interview, and investigation Officer Ashley Gonzalez may have touched. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office promised a thorough review of her cases. One month later, prosecutors claimed they could not find a single pending or resolved case connected to her. ABC13 searched public court records and found ten. Two were still active. Only after reporters gave prosecutors the cases did the DA’s Conviction Integrity Office begin working through them and notifying defendants. A Brady notice does not automatically invalidate a criminal case or prove that an arrest was wrongful. It gives the defense potentially important information to investigate an officer’s credibility, conduct, or possible bias. So was this an innocent search failure—or did media exposure finally force prosecutors to take action? 📄 Story tips, resources & support 👉 https://www.thinblueliesmedia.com Submit police accountability tips, bodycam footage, public records, court documents, and local story leads. 👕 Thin Blue Lies merch: https://www.youtube.com/@thinblueliesmedia/store #PoliceAccountability #BradyDisclosure #HoustonPolice
