Troopers B. Dotson (A-35) and C. Martin (A-37) engage in a high speed police chase with several pit maneuver attempts. During the pursuit Trooper Dotson hits a light pole AND a parked car. Causing damage to his police cruiser. Incident Report: I Trooper Brandon Dotson was traveling on Interstate 630 Eastbound approaching the MLK exit. I observed a black Hyundai passenger car (105ZKX) with expired tags. With my emergency equipment activated V1 failed to yield to my lights and siren. I immediately advised Troop A communication that I was in pursuit. V1 made a right turn onto MLK, I was able to perform a pursuit intervention causing D1 to lose total control of V1 and travel onto the right sidewalk. V1 struck a sign and was able to regain control and continued fleeing South on MLK. Trooper Cody Martin became secondary and began calling the pursuit. I attempted to perform another pursuit intervention and it was unsuccessful. The right rear of my unit made contact with a utility pole, which I was unaware of it at the time. V1 continued traveling south in a reckless manner showing no regards to the public safety. V1 made a right onto South Gaines Street and struck a vehicle head on. After impact S1 exited V1 and began to flee on foot. I was able to apprehend S1 a block away from the accident. S1 was transported to UAMS by MEMS and charged accordingly. No other were transported by MEMS from the scene due to injuries sustained from the collision. My unit was not put into gear as I exited and it rolled forward striking a parked unoccupied vehicle, incident report #A-11/21-1842.
