On December 18, 2022, officers from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department in Athens, Georgia, responded to reports of a firearm being discharged near Clayton Street and N Jackson Street. Witnesses indicated that a female, later identified as 21-year-old Valerie, had fired a handgun into the air during an argument. Officers located Valerie in the dressing room of a local store, where she was found in possession of a GLOCK 9mm handgun. After confirming her involvement in the incident, Valerie was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Reckless Conduct. In this footage, Valerie is already handcuffed and begins questioning officers about her detention. She vocalizes her resistance to commands and refuses to cooperate with officers attempting to place her inside a patrol vehicle.
