#Bodycam #PoliceBodycam #OrlandoPolice #PoliceEncounter #WelfareCheck #policearrest On December 6, 2024, Orlando police officers responded to a welfare check after a concerned boyfriend reported unusual behaviour involving a 21-year-old woman. When officers arrived, her mother told them she believed her daughter was “possessed” and had become extremely agitated after waking from sleep. During the investigation, the woman explained that she had experienced what she believed was a panic attack and admitted she had smoked marijuana earlier. Officers calmly questioned her, assessed her condition, and offered to have her evaluated by medical professionals. What happened next changed the entire situation. As officers prepared to leave, the woman suddenly reached toward an officer's firearm. Officers immediately reacted and took control of the situation. The incident escalated into a struggle before the woman was ultimately taken into custody and transported for further assistance. According to the police report, during the struggle she pressed the magazine release on the officer's firearm, causing the magazine to fall to the ground. However, she never successfully removed the firearm from its holster because the officer was able to keep control of it. Bodycam footage captures the tense welfare check, the family's concerns, the woman's unusual behaviour, officers' attempts to de-escalate the situation, and the shocking moment that turned the encounter into a serious firearm-related arrest. She was later transported to the Orange County Jail and charged with unlawful attempt to take a law enforcement officer's firearm. This video is presented for educational, documentary, and news reporting purposes. The footage is used to provide context and commentary surrounding the incident. All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
