Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: On November 26, 2022, at approximately 9:10 PM, Patrolman Brett Kyle of the Howell Township Police Department was dispatched to Winterberry Court in response to a report of a suspicious vehicle. According to the caller, the driver was observed operating the vehicle and repeatedly honking the horn. Patrolman Kyle arrived at the scene at around 9:20 PM and engaged with the driver of the Ford Escape, identified as Lauren. Upon inspection, he noted the presence of empty wine bottles within the vehicle and detected the scent of alcohol while conversing with the driver. Lauren appeared disoriented and informed the officer of her pregnancy, yet she also maintained that she had not consumed alcohol. As it was evident that Lauren had driven to the location after drinking and intended to operate a vehicle while under the influence, the officer deemed it necessary to conduct field sobriety exercises. Patrolman Kyle instructed her to exit the vehicle and, with the assistance of Patrolman Felix from the Freehold Township Police Department, guided her to the ground. Given the individual's apparent state of heavy intoxication, Patrolman Kyle determined that it would be impractical to conduct field sobriety exercises. Consequently, it was decided to transport her to the hospital for a blood draw, following the obtainment of a warrant. First responders promptly arrived on the scene, and Lauren was subsequently taken to CentraState Medical Center. While at the hospital, Patrolman Kyle reached out to Assistant Prosecutor Jessica Sparano from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, expressing his intent to seek a telephonic search warrant authorizing a blood draw. Subsequently, connection was established with SCJ James Newman, who ultimately approved the search warrant. Lauen has been served with the following summonses: Operating under the influence, reckless driving, driving while suspended, and driving with an expired driver’s license. According to court records dated March 3, 2023, Lauren admitted guilt to operating under the influence. As a result, her license was suspended for 4 months, she was mandated to attend a 12-hour program at an intoxicated driver resource center, required to use an ignition interlock device for 9 months and was fined a total of $690. Furthermore, as part of a plea deal, the other 3 citations were dismissed. Approximately a year later, on February 8, 2024, Lauren was once again apprehended for DWI.
