This wild bodycam clip from December 5, 2022, captures a fiery clash during the arrest of Daniel Hilts, a 32-year-old patron from Punta Gorda, Florida, at Anthony’s Restaurant & Pub in Joliet, Illinois. Filmed in the parking lot at 1:50 AM, this YouTube Short shows officers warning Hilts he’s headed for jail, yelling, “They’re gonna take you and throw you in jail, bro,” as he demands his cash and cigarettes, shouting, “I’m trying to get my money!” Hilts fires back, “Take me to jail for what, bro?” and insists, “I don’t drive drunk,” while noting, “This is all recorded.” Officers push him to grab his Gucci bag, walk, or call an Uber, tossing in a free ride offer. This chaotic scene is pure gold for true crime fans. The incident kicked off when Hilts, booted from Anthony’s for causing a ruckus, tried to drive his car, drawing heat from Officers Joseph Robinson and Robert Bukala. After blowing off ride-shares or a security escort to his nearby hotel, Hilts got belligerent, leading to a takedown and charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault, obstructing justice, criminal trespass to property, and resisting arrest. The neon-soaked Anthony’s parking lot sets a raw stage for this real-life crime drama, tailor-made for fans of unfiltered police bodycam action. True crime junkies will eat up Hilts’ bold defiance, his hunt for cash and smokes, and the jail threats, giving a gritty peek into a high-stakes cop clash. The recording callout and free ride offer crank up the drama in this wild arrest. Was Hilts out of line, or did the cops push too hard?
