On February 21, 2024, Las Cruces Police Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash complaint. While enroute to the location, officers were advised that a male subject had been hit by a car. The first officer to arrive to the location observed a female frantically pushing a baby stroller towards his patrol vehicle. Officers quickly discovered that they had arrived at the scene of a domestic dispute between a 19-year-old mother of two infants and her boyfriend. The boyfriend had allegedly struck the woman and she retaliated by hitting him with the car. Because she was intoxicated, she was placed under arrest and was transported to the Las Cruces police station. At the police station, she submitted to an evidential breath test, and the results were 0.18% BAC and 0.17% BAC. Her charges are listed at the end of the video. She was indicted by a Grand Jury nearly a year later and her case is still open. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
