Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: On September 17, 2023, at 7:18 PM, Officer Conti spotted a red 2008 Acura driving oddly westbound on Route 22 near Buffalo Wild Wings. The car nearly struck his vehicle before taking the US 202/206 North exit. It then exited toward Bridgewater Commons Mall and stopped in the mall parking lot. Conti told dispatch what he had seen and approached the driver, Kaitlyn. He asked Kaitlyn for her documents, but she could not find the vehicle registration. Officer Flores soon arrived to assist. When he asked where she had been, Kaitlyn said she was leaving Buffalo Wild Wings. She also admitted drinking alcohol before driving. Suspecting impairment, the officers brought her to the parking garage for field sobriety tests. Flores began with the HGN test. Kaitlyn then attempted the Walk and Turn test but repeatedly failed to touch heel-to-toe. She also counted incorrectly. During the One Leg Stand test, she did not raise her foot as instructed and stopped counting too early. Kaitlyn had been driving erratically, and officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol. She had also admitted drinking. After she failed the roadside tests, officers arrested her. Her Acura was impounded under John's Law and had to remain in storage for 12 hours. Conti took Kaitlyn to the police station and read her the drunk-driving warnings. She agreed to provide a breath sample. The test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.24%, three times the legal limit. Kaitlyn's in-laws signed the Potential Liability Warning, allowing her to wait for court outside custody. Officer Gallo later met with Conti and issued several traffic charges. The citations included driving under the influence, reckless driving, and careless driving. Kaitlyn appeared in court on January 3, 2024, and was found guilty of driving under the influence. The court ordered her to use an ignition interlock device for three months and spend 12 hours at a driver resource center. She also received $640 in fines.
