It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: Patrolman Vincent Fischer saw a car with no headlights on October 13, 2023. It was around 11:21 PM on Route 53. He turned on his lights. The car pulled over on Parks Road. He met the driver, Camila. He smelled alcohol. He asked Camila how much she drank. Her passenger said they drank. Camila said she had not. He suspected she was impaired. He asked her to get out. She had to do some tests. First was the eye test. Fischer watched her eyes. They did not move smoothly. They jerked at the farthest points. They moved before her eyes reached 45 degrees. Next was the walk and turn test. Camila did not step heel-to-toe. She took the wrong number of steps. She did not count her steps aloud. The third test was standing on one foot. She could not lift her foot right. She did not count correctly. For the last test, Camila opened her eyes. This happened in the middle of the test. Fischer arrested Camila for drunk driving. This was because of the broken headlight. It was also for the smell of alcohol. Plus, she failed the tests. A friend told Fischer they came from Pink Witches Night Out. This was an event for breast cancer awareness. The friend said they each had four drinks. Sergeant Scott Tobin stayed until the tow truck came. Camila’s car was towed. It was held for 12 hours. Camila heard the standard driver statement. She agreed to a breath test. The breath machine did not work at first. She had to go to Parsippany Police. There, she gave breath samples. The test showed her blood alcohol level was 0.15%. This was almost double the legal limit. She was taken back to Denville. A sober adult signed a form for her. Then she was released before her court date. Patrolman Fischer gave Camila tickets. She was cited for driving drunk. She also got tickets for reckless driving. There was one for careless driving. And one for no headlights. Court papers show Camila admitted guilt. This was on January 25, 2024. She pleaded guilty to drunk driving. She also pleaded guilty to no headlights. Because of this, Camila must use an ignition lock. This is for 9 months.
