On January 25, 2025, Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Wallingford stopped a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle was being driven by a 19-year-old woman who had 3 passengers in her vehicle. She claimed to be the designated driver and was on her way to take her passenger's home. She denied consuming any alcohol and blamed the smell of alcohol in her vehicle on the fact that all of her passengers had been drinking. She was asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. This included submitting to a portable breath test. The result was 0.191% BAC. She was placed under arrest and handcuffed. While she was sitting in the back of the police vehicle, she made several statements about how she was not drunk and that Trooper Wallingford should be out finding real drunk drivers. At the Highway Patrol Post, she submitted to an evidential breath test. The result was 0.175% BAC. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
