What began as a disturbance call quickly escalated when officers confronted the man and attempted to get his side of the story. During the encounter, the situation became physical after the man resisted officers and allegedly reached toward an officer's firearm. Bodycam footage captures the tense confrontation as officers struggle to control the suspect, repeatedly order him to stop resisting, and take him into custody. Officers later explain that the suspect's actions raised serious concerns because he allegedly reached for an officer's gun during the struggle. The suspect continued to argue that he had done nothing wrong, while officers explained that witnesses had observed the incident and that attempting to reach for an officer's firearm could result in serious criminal charges. Officers also arranged for medical personnel to evaluate him after he appeared to injure his mouth during the struggle. The footage shows the full sequence of events—from the initial disturbance at the group home to the physical confrontation, arrest, medical evaluation, and eventual transport to jail.
