When he arrived, he approached the vehicle and knocked on her window. The woman, sitting in the driver's seat, woke up but looked confused and didn’t seem to know where she was. When he asked her for her driver's license, he found out her name was Carissa Kalaydjian. After the call was made, first responders from the Sparta Ambulance Squad quickly arrived to check on Carissa, with Patrolwoman Brown there to help. Patrolman Finley told them there was no medical emergency, so they left the scene. He got back to his patrol car to run a check on her license and discussed what to do next with Patrolwoman Brown. Because they suspected she might be impaired, they offered Carissa the chance to take some field sobriety tests. Patrolman Finley began the process with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) test. As he conducted the test, he noticed that Carissa's eyes didn't follow smoothly and showed clear signs of nystagmus at the highest point. Next, they moved on to the Walk and Turn test. During this test, Carissa struggled to walk heel-to-toe on each step and made a mistake while turning. The third test was the One Leg Stand. Carissa first said she couldn't do it because she was wearing heels. Patrolman Finley kindly suggested that she try it without her shoes, but she still couldn't keep her balance or lift her foot as requested. Concerned for her safety, Patrolman Finley decided to stop the One Leg Stand test. After noticing Carissa falling asleep while driving, Patrolman Finley approached her and detected the strong smell of alcohol. Her unsteady appearance and struggle with the field sobriety tests convinced him that she was impaired. Consequently, he arrested her for driving under the influence. Following the arrest, her vehicle was searched and put into impound for a mandatory 12-hour hold as required by John’s Law. Patrolman Finley then took Carissa to the Sparta Township Police Department for processing. At police headquarters, Carissa was given the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators and agreed to provide breath samples. The test showed her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.12%, exceeding the legal limit of 0.08%. Once the processing was complete, she was released to her husband, having signed the Potential Liability Warning form. Patrolman Finley then issued her several summonses: for operating under the influence, careless driving, not having her driver registration, and not having her insurance card. 4:48 Allergy meds can make you drowsy. 8:27 her teen daughter catching strays. 10:23 why did the male cop ask the lady cop to mute If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video .
