Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: On March 6, 2024, at 3:34 p.m., officers responded to a crash on Oakdale Road. Officer Barberan arrived with Corporals Steckel and Fandel. A 2021 Cadillac Escalade had struck a utility pole on the passenger side. The impact caused heavy damage, and the vehicle's airbags had opened. Officer Barberan spoke with the driver, Jordyn. She said she was on her way to pick up her child when she dropped her phone. As she reached down to retrieve it, she lost control and crashed. When asked for her license, she first handed over a credit card. Two people in the car behind her had recorded the incident. Their video showed the Cadillac swerving into the oncoming lane before striking the pole. Officer Barberan did not smell alcohol, but he noticed other signs that suggested Jordyn might be impaired. Because of the crash and the deployed airbags, medics came to the scene. Jordyn declined further medical treatment. Officers then began field sobriety testing. Corporal Fandel conducted the eye test. Officer Barberan handled the walk-and-turn test, during which Jordyn failed to keep her steps heel-to-toe and turned in the wrong direction. During the one-leg stand, she could not properly raise her foot. The crash and the failed tests led to Jordyn's arrest. Officer Barberan took her to the police station, where she heard the Standard Statement. She agreed to a breath test, which showed a BAC of 0.00%. The result did not end the impairment inquiry. Officers still suspected drug use and called a drug recognition expert. Sergeant Ambrosi came to the station, and Jordyn provided a urine sample. Later testing found Alprazolam in her system. Jordyn was released and given a future court date. Officer Barberan issued several citations, including DUI, reckless driving, and failing to stay in her lane. Court records show that Jordyn pleaded guilty on October 3, 2024. She admitted driving under the influence. The court required her to use an ignition interlock device for three months and complete an impaired driver program. She also received $640 in fines, while the remaining charges were dismissed.
