It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On the morning of January 1, 2023, at about 7:15 AM, Red Bank Police received a call about a car accident at the intersection of Newman Springs Road and Hance Avenue. When Patrolman Ashon Lovick arrived, he saw a Honda sedan had crashed into a traffic light pole, with the airbags deployed inside the car. The driver, 18-year-old Diana Olivares, was questioned by Patrolman Lovick about what happened and where she had been. After being checked by EMS, she chose not to receive further medical help and did not want to go to the hospital. Diana shared with Patrolman Lovick that she had just come from Freehold and acknowledged that she had been drinking earlier. Patrolman Lovick then gave her a chance to complete some field sobriety tests. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, where he asked her to follow a moving object with her eyes. Next, she attempted the Walk and Turn test, but she struggled to walk in a straight line. For the final test, the One Leg Stand, Diana had difficulty counting correctly and keeping her balance. Diana was arrested for driving under the influence after she admitted to drinking alcohol, had a car accident, and struggled with the field sobriety tests. She was taken to the Red Bank Police Department, where she was given a chance to take a breathalyzer test. The results showed a blood alcohol content of 0.042%, which was above the legal limit for someone under 21. After processing, Diana was released to a friend who signed a liability warning for her.
