On July 4, 2024, Ohio Highway Patrol Sgt. Hill observed a vehicle failing to drive within a single lane. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 19-year-old woman wearing only a bikini. She claimed to be returning from an Independence Day kayaking trip. She did not have a driver's license to present and it was later revealed that her license was suspended due to a recent drunk driving conviction. Sgt. Hill detected alcohol coming from the vehicle, so he asked the woman to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the end of the tests, she was placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (OVI). She was transported to the Highway Patrol post, where she agreed to submit to a breath test.
