On March 16, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officer Roberson observed a vehicle running and stationary in the travel lanes of New Mexico State Route (NMSR) 528. Officer Roberson located the driver in the roadway arguing with two previous occupants of the vehicle. It was determined that the 18-year-old driver had a verbal altercation with two of her passengers who demanded to be let out of the vehicle. The driver, who admitted to operating the vehicle, was intoxicated and was requested to perform standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests, she was placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence. She was transported to the Rio Rancho police station, where she submitted to an evidential breath test. The results of the 2 breath samples were 0.17% BAC and 0.16% BAC. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
