On May 29, 2024, Pullman Police Officers responded to a gas station to conduct a welfare check. According to the caller, a woman with a blown-out tire was acting strangely near the air pump. When officers arrived, they observed the 27-year-old woman moving slowly and she appeared to be under the influence. The woman initially admitted to drinking alcohol and when asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, she stated she wasn't going to embarrass herself and that she would "just go in". She was placed under arrest and was transported to the famous brown chair of the Pullman Police Station. She agreed to provide a breath sample and the result was 0.257%, more than 3 times the legal limit. She was charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Driving With License Suspended. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
