#CrimeCamNow On September 4, 2025, Bremerton police officers were called to a small fire in a parking garage in Bremerton, Washington. An unmarked Ford Explorer with flashing police lights pulled in. Out stepped a man wearing an Edmonds police badge, along with other police and swat badges, body armor... At first, a Bremerton officer believed he might be an off-duty detective and began speaking with him. But the man’s odd mannerisms—and his claim to be from another jurisdiction—quickly raised suspicion. After wrapping up the fire call, the officer followed him back to the Bremerton Salvation Army, where he was working an “off-duty detail,” to gather more information. The man told officer that he had worked for Edmonds police for about two years in the robbery division and gang and intelligence division. Officer and the man exchanged names, shake hands and officer left. The man was later identified as Scaletta Teates, 49, from Olympia, Washington.
