On September 11, 2022, at approximately 4:18 AM, Deputy Randy Miller with the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a 2008 Ford Escape in Colfax, Washington. Deputy Miller had observed the vehicle driving erratically and crossing the center line on SR 195. The driver, 20-year-old Greenleigh Stinson, exhibited signs of impairment and later admitted to consuming alcohol before driving. Following field sobriety exercises and a PBT result of 0.125% BAC, she was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to the Whitman County Jail. A subsequent breath test showed a BAC of 0.111%, leading to a citation for DUI. She later pleaded guilty to negligent driving. This bodycam footage captures Deputy Miller's initial questioning of Greenleigh Stinson regarding her alcohol consumption. When directly asked, Greenleigh first denies drinking, but as the deputy emphasizes the importance of honesty, her account shifts, and she admits to having consumed one alcoholic beverage approximately two hours prior to the stop.
