On July 31st, 2020, in Sunland Park, New Mexico, New Mexico State Police visited "Sunland Park News & Video" in response to previous statewide mandatory mask violations under Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham executive order during the COVID-19 executive orders. "Sunland Park News & Video" is a business that sells adult toys, lingerie, oils, and has an arcade. The New Mexico State Police issued the citation to an employee and a manager on the phone indicated he would shut down the store in compliance of the COVID-19 order. The public health order in New Mexico says face coverings are mandatory inside and violators are subject to $100 fines. Businesses must require customers to wear face-coverings. If they fail to do so it is a larger fine for not complying.
