Imagine you're on a road trip. You pull into a hotel, park your car, and while you’re there, you decide to do a quick oil change. Not a full-blown repair job, just basic maintenance. But a few hours later, you’re in handcuffs. That’s what happened here. Hotel management called the police, claiming this man had been in their parking lot for "a couple of hours" working on his car. When officers showed up, instead of offering a warning—or asking him to leave—they arrested him. No crime was committed. He wasn’t trespassing when they told him to leave. He wasn’t damaging property. He wasn’t threatening anyone. He was just changing his oil. But now he’s got a criminal record. This raises the real question: At what point does inconvenience become criminal? Police often say, “We’re just responding to a call.” Okay. But responding doesn’t mean arresting people who aren’t breaking the law. This is a classic example of how businesses use police as private security—and how officers escalate routine situations into arrests. If the hotel wanted him gone, all they had to do was ask him to leave. If he refused? Then you can make a case for trespassing. But jumping straight to handcuffs? That’s not law enforcement—it’s abuse of authority. 📢 Comment below: Should this man have been arrested—or just asked to move along? 👇 Watch now and join the conversation.
