On May 3, 2025, LAPD officers responded to a domestic violence call in Southeast Los Angeles. Upon entering the residence, officers encountered 26-year-old Shamar Bennett armed with a CO2-powered AR-style pistol. The situation escalated quickly, resulting in an officer-involved shooting.
