This intense bodycam footage shows the moments that ignited the high-speed pursuit of Waffle House attack suspect Yokeen Lunford. The clip begins during a high-risk traffic stop where Lunford argues with Albuquerque police about parking his car, refusing to turn off the engine and escalating the situation. The standoff starts with officers pleading with Lunford to comply. "You're good where you're at. Turn it off," an officer commands, but Lunford repeatedly and aggressively refuses, stating, "I'm gonna f***ing park." This initial non-compliance sets a dangerous tone for the encounter. Suddenly, the situation deteriorates as Lunford decides to flee. An officer is heard broadcasting over the radio, "54, they fled going northbound San Pedro," officially declaring a police pursuit. He also reports a critical equipment failure: "the star chase was a failure," meaning a GPS tracking device failed to deploy, forcing officers into a dangerous traditional chase. The footage captures the moment the vehicle stops a second time, leading to an even more intense standoff. Officers immediately issue a dire warning to the occupants, shouting, "If you guys do not do what we tell you, we will use force against you!" An officer also yells, "Dude, you're going to get shot!" highlighting the life-or-death stakes of the high-risk stop. This chase occurred on January 21, 2025, after Yokeen Lunford and his associates were identified as suspects in a violent brawl at a Waffle House. This footage demonstrates how a suspect's refusal to follow simple commands can instantly escalate a traffic stop into a life-threatening vehicle pursuit. #policebodycam #bodycam #policechase #lawenforcement
