On December 25, 2024, Peoria Police Officers were dispatched to a hit and run accident. The police report indicates that officers first made contact with the victim. She pointed out the vehicle that hit her, which was now parked in a driveway of a nearby residence. Officer Bishoff made contact with the 32-year-old woman who was suspected of causing the accident. She was still sitting in her vehicle. Due to the allegations, she was detained and placed in the back of a police vehicle. She was transported to the Peoria Police Station where officers continued their investigation. The woman admitted that she was a nurse and had consumed 8 shots of rum the night before (Christmas Eve). She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, but she was too intoxicated to finish most of them. She also refused to submit to a breath test.
