On August 10, 2022, West Salem Police Officer Donley was conducting traffic enforcement when he observed a vehicle traveling approximately 76 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Officer Donley initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and observed signs that the female driver was impaired. After conducting standardized field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI). She blew a preliminary breath test reading of 0.245 % BAC. She was taken to a local emergency room for a blood draw. She was also cited for speeding on a city highway. According to court records, she pled guilty to OWI (1st offense) on September 29, 2022. The speeding offense was dismissed. She was fined $937.50 plus $35 for the blood draw and her license was revoked for 6 months.
