#news #police #arrest #cops Report: On 8/7/2022, Officer noticed a Jeep past him and the front right tire was deflated and that the driver was driving the car on the rim. Officer performed a traffic stop and noticed the driver had slurred speech. Officer Hunt then arrived and took over the investigation Officer Hunt assisted Jones on a traffic stop . Jones stated that he conducted the traffic stop because the right tire on the vehicle was shredded and the vehicle was rolling on the rim. Officer approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver. I asked how much she had to drink, she stated that she did not have much to drink and she was just out with friends. The subject was identified as Brianne Balsamo. I asked her if she would consent to a voluntary field sobriety test to make sure she was okay to drive and she gave consent. HGN Results ● Lack of smooth pursuit: Left eye ● Lack of smooth pursuit: Right eye I couldn't continue with HGN because the subject wouldn't stop moving her head in order to get the most accurate results. Walk and Turn Results: ● Can't keep balance while listening to instructions ● Starts before instructions are finished ● Stops during the test ● Does not touch heel-to-toe ● Loses balance while walking (steps off line) ● Uses arms for balance (raises arms over six inches) ● Loses balance while turning, turns incorrectly ● Incorrect number of steps One Leg Stand Results: ● Sways while balancing ● Uses arms to balance (raises arms over six inches) ● Hopping ● Puts foot down At that time I placed Balsamo under arrest, hands behind the back. DBL. She was searched incident to arrest and no contraband was found. I read Balsamo implied consent and she gave consent for a breath sample. She was then transported to the Downtown station where she gave a breath sample. Then she was transported to the Clarke County Jail and turned over to deputies. The 1" breath sample had a BrAC of 0.167. The 2nd breath sample had a strong continuous breath sample. The 2nd breath sample had a BrAC of 0.147.
