On February 9th, 2023, an FHP trooper was on routine patrol when he received information from the Lake Worth Regional Communications Center (LWRCC) that the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office was tracking a stolen vehicle, a white Audi SUV. The vehicle was actively being tracked by the PBSO helicopter and several unmarked units belonging to PBSO and a multi-agency task force. The trooper caught up to the suspect vehicle on Interstate 95 and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as Brayden Jacye-Lei Zayd Mitchell, failed to comply and instead accelerated the stolen vehicle at high and dangerous speeds, surpassing 137 MPH in a posted 65 MPH zone.
