On January 19, 2025, Roswell Police Officer Brisco stopped a vehicle with expired registration. The vehicle was being driven by a 32-year-old woman. Her heavily intoxicated passenger was given permission by Officer Brisco to leave the traffic stop and walk home. The driver was asked to step out in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She was not happy about this and claimed to have an injury to her leg. When asked about her highest level of education, she appeared visibly irate when she admitted that she dropped out of school in the 9th grade. She was eventually placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence. She asked to make a phone call to the co-parent of her son, which was conducted over speaker phone. An argument ensued which resulted in a lively exchange of profanity. Finally, the woman claimed to have anxiety when she was being read the New Mexico Implied Consent Act. At the end of the video, she is transported to the Chaves County Detention Center. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
