An alleged imposter nurse was arrested after treating more than 4,000 unsuspecting patients at a Florida hospital in one of the most shocking medical fraud cases in recent years. According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Autumn Bardisa worked at AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway for nearly two years by impersonating a registered nurse. Authorities say Bardisa used a former classmate’s medical license number and false documents to secure employment while never being properly licensed. Investigators revealed that Bardisa allegedly treated 4,486 patients between July 2023 and January 2025, all while lying about her credentials. She claimed she had passed her nursing exam, provided a stolen license number, and even convinced supervisors her name discrepancy was due to a recent marriage. But when she was up for a promotion, her lies finally unraveled. Hospital staff discovered she only had an expired nursing assistant license, sparking an internal investigation. She was fired in January 2025 after refusing to provide proof of marriage, and authorities later confirmed her fraud. Bardisa was arrested at her home and now faces seven counts of practicing without a license and seven counts of fraudulent use of personal identification. She is currently being held on $70,000 bond. Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly called it “one of the most disturbing cases of medical fraud we’ve ever investigated,” emphasizing that thousands of patients’ lives were potentially put at risk. ⚖️ Charges against Bardisa include: Practicing a health care profession without a license Fraudulent use of personal identification This case raises serious questions about hospital hiring practices, patient safety, and how medical fraud on this scale could go unnoticed for so long. 📺 Watch the full police bodycam footage of the arrest here and let us know in the comments — do you think her punishment should be more severe given the risks to thousands of patients? 👉 Subscribe to Police Bodycam Arrests HQ for more real police arrest footage, crime breakdowns, and shocking cases from across the U.S. Disclaimer: Our videos contain footage of real life incidents.
