A late-night traffic stop escalates into an intense DUI investigation as a young driver faces tough questions about her actions. Officer Westerman initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle make several turns without signaling. Upon contact, the officer detected the odor of alcohol and noted the driver's watery, bloodshot eyes. The 19-year-old driver, who had long, straight blonde hair and visible bruising on her legs, was uncooperative with field sobriety exercises and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. At the police department, after being read her Miranda rights, she admitted to consuming alcohol, and breath samples confirmed a blood alcohol content of 0.179%. She was processed and released with a summons, later pleading guilty to DUI, resulting in probation, a 90-day license suspension, and mandatory use of an ignition interlock device. --- Transparency through the lens of the law.
