On March 17, 2024, Pullman Police Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle crash. When Officer Padrta arrived, he asked the 21-year-old driver if she had been drinking. She initially admitted to consuming one shot. Because of this, she was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. Her level of intoxication was so high, that she had a very difficult time understanding the test instructions. This afforded Officer Padrta time to interject his unique sense of humor. The woman was arrested for DUI and was transported to the Pullman Police Station, where she was afforded the opportunity to sit in the famous brown chair. She agreed to submit to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.215% BAC. She was cited for Driving Under the Influence and was released to a sober party. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
