Prior Arrest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tpd9Gt5iTdU Around 12:37 AM on June 24, 2025, Patrolman Glenn Muszynski with the Piscataway Township Police Department was driving northbound on Stelton Road in the vicinity of Lakeview Avenue. He noticed a possible disturbance when a female and male were standing on the lawn of 8 Stelton Road. When he asked if there were any issues, the male, later identified as Ruben Rios-Roman, appeared frantic and requested his assistance. Ruben told Patrolman Muszynski that the female, later identified as 20-year-old Dana Lawrence, was attempting to drive her car while she was intoxicated. Dana appeared upset that Ruben would not give her the car keys. At some point, Dana threw a closed-hand punch towards Ruben, so Patrolman Muszynski went to place her under arrest. As he attempted to place her under arrest, Dana began to resist and scream in an erratic manner. Ruben would later tell the officers that they knew each other from work, and that they had gotten drunk earlier that evening. He was insisting that she could not drive her vehicle while she was impaired, and that is why she became upset towards him. Shortly afterwards, Patrolwoman Gianna Salvatore arrived on scene to assist with placing Dana in handcuffs. As they were walking her towards the patrol car, Patrolman Patrick Barry also arrived on scene. While Dana was being placed in the prisoner compartment, she kicked Patrolwoman Salvatore on her thigh region and spat on right arm. Sergeant Meredith Robbins then conducted a search of her person, before she was secured in the car. Patrolwoman Salvatore then transported Dana to the Piscataway Township Police Department for further processing. After they arrived in the sally port, a spit shield was placed on Dana. She continued to be uncooperative during the booking process. After she was photographed and fingerprinted, there was no one who could come and take responsibility for Dana, so they determined that she would be transported to Robert Wood Johnson (RWJ) University Hospital in New Brunswick. Since Dana would not voluntarily get on the stretcher, she had to be forcibly strapped to the stretcher and transported by ambulance. Patrolwoman Jessica Cortez rode in the ambulance rig with Dana and she was eventually turned over to the hospital staff. At the hospital, Dana had to be sedated because of her erratic behavior. Dana was charged with the following: -Aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer (2C:12-1B(5)(A)) – 3 separate counts involving Officers Glenn Muszynski, Patrick Barry, and Jessica Cortez -Resisting arrest (2C:29-2A(3)(A)) -Disorderly conduct (2C:33-2A(1)) -Simple assault (2C:12-1A(1)) -Throwing bodily fluid at a law enforcement officer (2C:12-13) -Peace and good health (Ordinance 3-23) As of June 20, 2026, these charges from Piscataway Township, NJ are still pending in court. Dana has previously been arrested for driving while intoxicated in Spotswood, NJ on March 1, 2025. Following this incident, Dana was later arrested again on the following occasions: -Disorderly conduct (2C:33-2A(1)) in Spotswood, NJ on September 10, 2025 -Criminal mischief (2C:17-3A(1)) and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer (2C:12-1B(5)(A)) in Spotswood, NJ on January 11, 2026. -Driving while intoxicated in East Brunswick, NJ on March 19, 2026 ---------------------------------------------- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and consider supporting this channel (email us for more information). Our content is shared for educational and news gathering purposes. We are in compliance with YouTube's Fair Use Policy because we edit several long clips into a concise story. This is similar to other law enforcement channels on YouTube. Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. The New Jersey Supreme Court has previously affirmed in Salzano v. North Jersey Media Group, 993 A.2d 778 (2010) that “The fair-report privilege reflects the judgment that the need, in a self-governing society, for free-flowing information about matters of public interest outweighs concerns over the uncompensated injury to a person's reputation.” This video advances a compelling public interest. The summary of events was based on records that are “open to public view through open access to public records” as defined in the Salzano case. In Ramos v. Flowers, 429 N.J. Super. 13, the Appellate Division of the Superior Court has also affirmed the right to film law enforcement interactions.
